The Joy of Simple Living
The joy of simple living is less stuff. Right? We have discussed this many times. Even though less stuff can be a good thing in our humble opinion. We don't see that as the major thing. We really feel that the joy of simple living is lots of time. When you think about it nothing takes the place of time. Its the one thing that can not be bought, and its the one thing that we never feel we have enough of. At our jobs we sell our time for a hourly wage. Sometimes we feel it is worth it, and sometimes we just don't think it is. Time is the one thing money can not buy. But the one thing money can buy is stuff! We have often wondered if we had so much stuff because all we wanted was more time. I mean we seemed to have the latest time saving electronic products. Like a dishwasher, and a bread machine. Even a microwave oven. Because lets face it who had time to think about dinner till 5 minutes before it was time to start making it! Something had to thaw out the frozen meat! So think about this if you are spending your money buying stuff to make time for yourself. Then what can you do to get some real time. The take your dad fishing and spend the whole day with him kind of time. The my child is sick and I want to spend every minute with him kind of time. The I am having so much fun doing this hobby I never want to stop kind of time. The I just want to have a life where I don't have to sell my time for an hourly wage kind of time. Thats the kind of real time we all crave. Because we buy every time saving appliance known to man. Some that don't even really save time. But if they say they do then we want it! Why? Its as close as we ever get to buying time. Its a vicious circle. The cut in the circle is made where you stop buying stuff. Start saving what you have spent your time making. Find a way to make those dollars work for you. Instead of you giving up your time working for those dollars. In order to get the real kind of time money can't buy. The joy of simple living is the one thing there is never enough of... TIME!
