Your Money or Your Life, by Joe Dominguez, & Vicki Robin
We liked "Your Money or Your Life" by Joe Dominguez, & Vicki RobinWe learned a lot by reading it. To be quite truthful not in the first reading though. For us at least it is one of those books you read more than once. And you refer back to it time and time again. What we did get the first reading was the over all idea! So we began the dream of "Making a Life" for our family's. We did not live a fast track crazy life that we gave up. We were average middle class working americans. We decided we wanted our husbands to retire early and that was our goal. So we set our goals and worked toward them. Our husbands reaction was they humored us. We knew they didn't get it all the way. But we were happy, so they just smiled, and went along with it. As we did the steps in the book we did not always like what we saw about ourselves. We had to face up to some things, and our spending habits would be put into the spotlight. Yet we stayed with it and held onto our dreams. It took many years of hard work, and keeping to our goals. When our "coming in" money started surpassing our "going out" money. Our husbands did have the decency to walk around quite stunned. When they realized they could quit their jobs at any time, and still be able to support their family. So in 2007 our families started the new adventure into retirement. We are all in our 40's. We have children and they have both mom and dad with them. We did read other books besides this one, but this book is all inclusive, and has everything you need to retire at any age. Note: We do recommend getting a book on Bonds to learn more about them. This is the best one we found so far. Its easy to understand. --->The truth is we did not even realize it was possible till we read the book "Your Money or Your Life". It changed our lives. We began to dream again. Now those dreams are reality.
